New York Fashion Week, although it takes place in one of the largest economies in the world, is a kind of "acceleration" before the most trendy and prestigious Fashion Week in Paris. What do fashionable American designers offer women to wear in the upcoming spring-summer 2025 season? The Status Symbol magazine publishes a selection of the best shows and the main trends, according to American designers, in the new spring-summer 2025 season.

Corset Tracksuits: Off-White

Virgil Abloh's late company Off-White is once again making a reference to its founder. The new collection from creative director Ib Kamara is inspired by a trip to Abloh's parents' homeland of Ghana and combines features of African and American aesthetics: tight-fitting corset-type rashguards with zippers, deep slits, feathers and African motifs in the decor.

His Majesty Fringe and Avant-garde Tailoring: Proenza Schouler and Jason Wu

Architectural cut, lack of symmetry in the image and flashy elements allow us to classify the clothes of the Proenza Schouler brand in intellectual fashion. In the new spring-summer season, the designers-founders of the company Jack McCollough and Lazaro Hernandez honor wide trousers with a low waist and large buttons and dresses made of fringe and nautical stripes.

Taiwanese-born Canadian fashion designer Jason Wu was inspired by Taiwanese artist Tong Yang-Tze, who at 82 is reportedly “set to become the first Asian artist to create commissioned work for the Metropolitan Museum of Art.” A crisp black-and-white color scheme and clothes that feel like a piece of calligraphy paper are the statement pieces of Jason Wu’s new collection.

Timeless Classic: Carolina Herrera

The creative director of the Carolina Herrera brand, Wes Gordon, continues the line of the brand's founder, who, having visited the Parisian show of Cristobal Balenciaga at the age of 13, was forever captivated by his elegant images and fashion. Feminine lace, floral appliqués, polka dots, houndstooth, bustiers, flowing fabrics, pink and red colors and other most exquisite elements are a true apotheosis of femininity.
