Designers Tatyana and Anastasia Uglitskikh – transformable dresses for beauty queens
At Estet Fashion Week on April 16, 2024, designers Tatyana Uglitskikh and Anastasia Uglitskikh presented a collection of 31 transformable dresses. The Uglitskys founded an atelier in Ryazan, creating custom evening and wedding looks, and some dresses are rented out for photo shoots. The Uglitsky Atelier has already participated in fashion shows in Moscow more than once. Participants in beauty contests, including Beauty of Russia and Mrs. Russia, chose the Uglitsky dresses to participate in beauty contests, which brought them the coveted crown. As the founder and author of the magazine The Status Symbol I was lucky enough to participate in the show as a model.
The basis of the new Uglitsky collection is the tricolor, namely blue, white, red, as well as khaki, gold, black and pink. Each look is complemented by a kokoshnik headband. It was the Uglitsky Fashion House that showed for the first time in 2018 a voluminous tulle dress dedicated to the Russian tricolor.
The fashion house of Tatiana and Anastasia Uglitsky is known for its corset transformable dresses: it would seem like a solid set, but it consists of a corset, a skirt and sometimes shorts. Thus, the corset can be worn separately from the skirt, which makes the Uglitskys’ looks more practical. The Uglitskys use organza, taffeta, chiffon, cotton and tulle, complemented with lace, bugles and embroidery.
I am grateful to Tatyana Uglitskikh for creating a golden transforming dress especially for me and for the show at Estet fashion week. It was a unique experience!
