The 70th Cannes Film Festival presented its poster

Last Wednesday the management Cannes Film Festival presented official poster of the 70th anniversary festival. Every year the festival has a new image, like a still from a film. At various times, Marilyn Monroe, Marcelo Mastroianni, Marlene Dietrich and others appeared on the posters. Pressing over the red carpet, replicated on numerous souvenirs, the poster always conveys the spirit and mood of the festival.

This year the official poster with a dancing Claudia Cardinale, dressed in “passionate red and sparkling gold,” the festival’s press release promises us “joy and freedom.” It's an anniversary after all!

Claudia Cardinale herself is happy with this choice of photography:

“It is a great honor for me to be the “image” of the 70th Cannes Film Festival. This photo is the most me at the festival, which makes everything around me shine. The photo was taken on one of the Roman roofs back in 1959. No one, not even me, remembers the name of the photographer... But the photograph reminds me of my past, my youth, a time when I never dreamed that I would one day climb the steps of a world-famous film festival. Happy birthday!"
