On September 2, the grand opening of the 77th Venice Film Festival took place, which will contribute to the “awakening” of the film industry and demonstrate to the world, we hope, the positive experience of holding mass forums. The Status Symbol magazine has compiled a selection of the best moments from the opening of the Venice Film Festival.

The Venice Cinematography Biennale has become the only category A show to be held offline during the pandemic. The directorate of the film festival has taken unprecedented security measures: guests from non-EU countries are required to provide negative coronavirus tests, as well as be tested twice during the film festival. At screenings, guests and press sit across the chair, so at the opening the hall was half empty. Of course, guests and jury members wore masks. Chairman of this year's jury Cate Blanchett was photographed wearing a medical mask at a press conference and before the opening of the film festival on the red carpet. Tilda Swinton Instead of a medical mask, I used a luxurious gilded Venetian one. The actress received an award for achievements in cinema this year. Italian host of the opening and closing ceremonies Anna Folletta, dressed in an elegant black tuxedo, posed in a black fabric mask. This year there are much fewer guests and press at the festival, but the program of arthouse and independent films is richer.
