How to get to the Moscow Film Festival 2024? The main thing about the 46th MIFF

From April 19 to April 26, 2024, the 46th Moscow International Film Festival will be held in Moscow. The Moscow Film Festival is one of the oldest film festivals in the world. Based on the results of the MIFF competition program, winning films will be selected and awarded with Golden and Silver St. George statuettes manufactured by Mercury. This is the name of the main film awards.

HOW IS THE MIFF SETUP?

In 2024, the Moscow Film Festival will show 260 films from more than 50 countries in all programs, including competition. The opening film of the 46th MIFF will be the film “Open Sky” by Mexican directors Mariana and Santiago Arriaga. The closing film of the MIFF is “Major Grom: The Game” by Oleg Trofim. 

The competition program in 2024 included films from Romania, Austria, Moldova, Iran, Bulgaria, Germany, Turkey, Bangladesh, Russia, Qatar, Serbia, and Germany. Traditionally, the MIFF presents a worthy selection of films from the countries of the Middle East and this year also from the countries of Eastern Europe.

In addition to the main competition program, the MIFF also hosts a documentary film competition, a short film competition, a “Russian Premieres” competition, the BRICS festival, the “Recipe for Success” program about success stories in world cinema, “For adults about children” about the problems of intergenerational relationships, “Black -white world" about black and white cinema, "Screen wars. Episode one. Movement”, VGIKA program, horror film program “Wild Nights” by Yegor Moskvitin and others.

To get to the MIFF sessions, you must purchase tickets for official website of the show. The main premieres take place at the Khudozhestvenny cinema and at the Oktyabr cinema on Novy Arbat.

Access to the red carpet, opening and closing ceremonies is reserved for cultural professionals, film professionals, celebrities and the press.
