The Vysotsky House hosted the premiere of Andrei Butyaev’s production “Games for Two. (Scream)" (16+) based on the play by Tennessee Williams. The premiere was organized by the Comrades Theater. Magazine The Status Symbol publishes a review of the performance.

The author of A Streetcar Named Desire and Cat on a Hot Tin Roof, American Tennessee Williams, is one of the most talented and complex playwrights of the 20th century. And the master considered “The Scream” to be his most favorite work. In the play, as often in life, reality is intertwined with illusion. The actors (brother Felice and sister Claire) are about to begin their performance, however, the refrain returns to the tragedy of their lives. Their father killed their mother and shot himself. They are left to their own devices in a closed theater. The emptiness of the stage and the tragedy of their lives force them to walk in a circle of terrible memories on the verge of losing touch with reality.

Fear, loneliness, sometimes creative hatred for each other, the game of breaking apart is superbly conveyed in the acting duet (Ivan Semenov (Felice) and Maria Sledneva (Claire). “A Game for Two. (Scream)" directed by Andrey Butyaev is a performance of endless overcoming insurmountable life circumstances.
