In the space of the Lumiere Gallery on Bolshaya Polyanka 61, building 1, the grand opening of the joint exhibition photo project of the gallery and the development company MR Group “Life as a Movie” took place, which will be available to the general public from June 9 to September 3, 2023.

The exhibition includes more than thirty collectible photographic prints by foreign and Soviet authors dedicated to the style and aesthetics of Art Deco, as well as the golden age of Hollywood. For the first time, visitors will be presented with rare hand-printed vintage photographs from the filming of foreign films “Gone with the Wind” (1939), “The Great Dictator” (1940), “Joker” (1957). Portraits of Vivien Leigh, Charlie Chaplin and Frank Sinatra are authentic documents of the era and convey the atmosphere that reigned on the film sets. Among the actors immortalized in the photographs are Marlon Brando, Vivien Leigh, Charlie Chaplin, Frank Sinatra, Greta Garbo, Marilyn Monroe, Grace Kelly, Cary Grant and Ingrid Bergman.

The exhibition presents works by iconic masters of the American photography school, such as Sheila Metzner, Harold Feinstein, Elliott Erwitt, which depict architectural breakthroughs of the second quarter of the 1960th century - the monumental Chrysler skyscrapers and the Empire State Building. The exhibition also includes impressive images from Soviet photographer Nikolai Drachinsky from business trips to the United States in the XNUMXs, immortalizing the heyday of Art Deco architecture and the New York landscape.

After exposure, some of the photographs will go into MR Group corporate collection and will be displayed in the entrance groups "Paveletskaya City". The new residential complex will consist of 9 buildings, each of which has already received the name of a cult celebrity, among them - “Grace”, “Frank”, “Charlie”, “Marlon”, “Marilyn”, “Vivienne”, “Ingrid” and others . Other part photographs are available in the Lumiere Gallery for purchase in private collections. Each photograph has the author's signature on the front and back. At the opening of the exhibition, representatives of the Lumiere Gallery and MR Group emphasized that cooperation between gallery owners and developers opens up new opportunities for private and corporate collecting.
